Ottawa Magazine | The Big 150 Special Issue

Publisher: The Big 150 was a special issue published by Ottawa Magazine (St. Joseph Media) to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday in the capital city.

Contributors included Giller-prize winner Elizabeth Hay, former Governor General The Rt. Hon. Adrienne Clarkson, national columnist Paul Wells and more. Several celebrities such as Justin and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, William Shatner, Jim Cuddy and the Barenaked Ladies’ Ed Robertson gave their memories and recommendations of the best in the city.

Ottawa Magazine sadly closed shop in 2023. In their final printed magazine, long-time publisher Dianne Wing said one of her favourite issues was The Big 150, calling it “a love letter to Ottawa.”
